Robert Johnson
Robert Johnson, Fire Commissioner at SE Thurston Fire Authority, passed away on Wednesday October 9, 2013. Johnson served as fire commissioner from 2008 to October 9, 2013. Robert also served as a volunteer fire fighter for Yelm/Rainier for 10 years. He worked at the Olympia Fire Department January 1984 and retired as a Lieutenant Fire Fighter on October 12, 2011. Robert Johnson was a man who gave back to his community and he will be missed.
Kathleen Devin
Former Fire Commissioner, Kathleen Devin, served from 1996-2011. Devin died on August 11, 2013 surrounded by her family. Kathleen started her services with the Rainier Fire Department in 1990 as a filed operations volunteer; she assisted with administrative and training duties. Devin was also an EMT instructor/evaluator with the Medic One System and established a county-wide immunization program in conjunction with the County Health Department. Kathleen Devin gave back to the community she lived in and will be missed.
